*Make Flower Portraits inspired by The Jungalow. I always feel so happy and relaxed after her classes! She has the nicest way about her and it makes me smile to watch her. *My local yoga teacher, Patricia Becker, has a wonderful YouTube channel with so many free classes. * Cosmic Yoga, free YouTube yoga videos for kids have also been great. *Mo Willems, one of our favorite children’s authors, is doing “Lunch Doodles” on YouTube, free online drawing classes for kids. I have done a couple and Ezra (who is 5) has really enjoyed them. * Raising Wonder (from the author of Lola Dutch) is emailing out daily printables for different art-based lessons with kids. *Bravery Magazine is offering “ Bravery School” a free 4-week curriculum delivered to your inbox. * Art With Edie, a live art class on Thursdays that the Say Yes founder Liz Stanley leads with her daughter. Ezra enjoyed the tree lesson- Wendy makes it fun.
*Wendy MacNaughton, an amazing CA-based illustrator (who did the illos in the Salt Fat Acid Heat cookbook) has been doing free live drawing classes on Instagram live, and they are saved in her stories as “Drawing Together”. Have you found anything you’ve been loving? If so, please let me know! There are so many talented people out there sharing free resources right now, especially for kids, and I wanted to share a few that we’ve been enjoying, and a few that we’ve been wanting to try. In the afternoons, we’ve been trying to find other ideas to keep the kids busy (and myself, too!) including baking and art projects. We set up his own little “classroom” in his bedroom, with the old wooden table that was mine as a child. Ezra has a remote learning plan set up by his incredible kindergarten teacher and we have been trying to stick to the daily schedule. I’m not someone who ever aspired to homeschool my kids (although I think those who do it are AMAZING!) so we are figuring it out as we go. We are so grateful that we both have so much flexibility with our work, as I know a lot of people don’t. Anyone else getting a little cabin fever?! In these final days leading up to baby #3’s arrival, I am moving quite slowly while trying to keep Ezra and Max entertained, and am so happy to have Jon at home doing so much, even if he is quite busy working remotely. We are on day 14 of self-quarantine at home.
